My name is Ellard and i’m a software engineer living in San Francisco. I got my B.S. in Computer Science from the University of San Francisco back at 2009 and i’ve been working in the field since then. I like to say that i’m a full stack engineer in that i’m interested in learning everything that I can from understanding the newest Javascript libraries to figuring out how to load balance microservices on the ops level. I’m more proficient at working on the back end and that’s where my main focus has been for the past few years.
I spend most of my spare time learning more about MMA. I’ve been interested in martial arts since I was a kid and grew up watching everything from action movies, pro wrestling, to mixed martial arts organizations such as Pride and the early days of the UFC. I’ve been doing boxing for a while now and in early 2015 I started learning BJJ to better understand the grappling part of MMA. Outside of fighting, i’ve been a nutrition nerd and health nut since 2003 and am still learning (and unfortunately forgetting) more each day.
